The Next Chapter of The Second Messenger: Seeking a Musical Co-Pilot

I’ve always believed that the absolute best bands are built on the tension, chemistry, and pure magic of two distinct frontmen. Think about Blink-182’s Mark and Tom, or the legendary dynamic of Lennon and McCartney. That’s the kind of creative partnership I’m looking to build for the next phase of The Second Messenger.

I am searching for a musical complement—someone to share the writing load, trade vocal duties, and help create something we simply couldn't make on our own.

The Dynamic

While writing original music is my greatest passion, I also just love getting out there and performing. I have my strengths (songwriting structure, production, rhythm guitar), but I need someone who brings what I lack. Whether we are building tracks in my home studio here in Rancho Cucamonga or loading gear into a venue across Southern California, I’m looking for a partner to join this project as an equal member.

I take the music seriously, but I don't take myself too seriously. Hard work is fun to me; micromanaging isn't. I'm looking to grind out great songs in a chill, ego-free environment.

What I need from you:

  • Vocals are Essential: To me, "songwriting" means "singing." You don’t need to be Pavarotti, but you should be willing to sing harmony and counterpoint on my songs, and take the lead on yours.
  • Instrumentation: I can play bass, but it’s not my primary passion—so if you love holding down the low end, you're hired! Alternatively, if you're a guitar shredder who can add leads to my rhythms, let's talk. If you play drums, you just need to be comfortable tracking on electric kits for the sake of clean studio production (but we can absolutely go for acoustic drums at live shows).

(Side note: If you already have an established original band that needs a reliable member, or if you're putting together a fun cover band to play gigs, hit me up! I have the pro gear, the live sound connections, and the experience to jump in and serve the song.)

The Sonic Vision

My philosophy is that a good song is a good song, regardless of the production. I usually start my writing process minimally—just guitar or piano and voice—to ensure the core melody and chords stand on their own. If that feels right, the rest is just icing on the cake.

While I believe the best songs can work in multiple styles, The Second Messenger has a few sonic "home bases":

  • High-Energy: Heavily leans into early 2000s Pop-Punk (Blink-182, Green Day, All Time Low) and the driving energy of the Sonic Adventure 2 soundtrack (if you know, you know).
  • Darker Rock: Minor-key rock tracks influenced by the analogue warmth of 90s Alt-Rock (Foo Fighters, Third Eye Blind, No Doubt).
  • Softer/Introspective: Inspired by The Gin Blossoms, Del Amitri, and the vast diversity of The Beatles.

A massive personal influence on my sound was my father and his band. Growing up watching them write and perform what they called "vocal power pop" gave me a deep appreciation for lush vocal harmonies layered over rich, flavorful chord movements. Ultimately, I aim for a wide-ranging portfolio where acoustic ballads and heavy rock songs can coexist.

What I Bring to the Table

I bring a full set of production skills, business experience, and an established vehicle with over 30 singles and 11 worldwide distributions.

Beyond the catalog, I bring professional reliability. I spent several years as a touring musician with the Fabba show (ABBA Tribute). Combined with a formal background in audio engineering and over a decade spent teaching music, I know exactly what it takes to be tight, professional, and easy to work with.

The Setup: I operate out of a private, dedicated home studio designed specifically to facilitate creative writing and recording. It is a comfortable, focused environment where we can track vocals, guitars, and drums without watching the clock.

  • The Rig: A hybrid workflow splitting tasks between a Custom Built Audio PC and a 16" MacBook Pro, running Studio One and Reaper.
  • The Gear: PreSonus Quantum HD2 interface, an Aston Spirit condenser (alongside a fleet of SM57s/58s), and trustworthy monitoring via JBLs and Slate VSX.
  • The Arsenal: Everything from my main Ibanez S61 and Fender Strat to a Taylor Acoustic, various basses (including a rare Charvel), a Nektar Impact LX 61+ synth, and a Pearl 5-Piece kit.

Beyond the studio, I also have access to professional live sound reinforcement resources (PA systems, mixers, subwoofers) via family connections in the music education industry. We are gig-ready, even for venues that don't provide their own sound.

Let's Make Noise

If you are a dedicated musician with the same drive to create, perform, and build a lasting catalog, I want to hear from you. Let’s get into the studio and see what kind of noise we can make together.

Reach out and let's talk music.
